Mission

Urban Connect is an information hub dedicated to sharing resources related to Yoga, Buddhism, and Psychology, for the purpose of promoting personal growth and healing. The site also targets how these subjects relate to under-served urban communities and the adversities they encounter.

The mission of Urban Connect is to share information related to Yoga, Buddhism, and Psychology, and to explore the connection between these subjects, for the purpose of promoting personal growth and healing.

This site has been designed with the intention of offering assistance to under-served urban communities, specifically those living in poverty, struggling with substance dependence, living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic medical issues, living with severe and persistent mental illness, those who are or have been incarcerated, those who have been impacted by interpersonal violence, and those that are homeless. I hope to achieve this aim by sharing information that has been useful in my own journey, as well as through my blog, which will contain personal reflections about Yoga, Buddhism, and Psychology, and their relationship with the obstacles listed above. My efforts are dedicated to easing suffering and guiding people towards healing.

The site includes links to related resources, including instructional yoga and meditation videos and podcasts (which are in some cases incorporated into other subsections and can be identified by bold print), inspirational teachers, healthcare professionals, service organizations, and information regarding affordable yoga and meditation classes in NYC. Enjoy the inspiring photographs featured throughout the website, which I have taken throughout the years, and be uplifted by quotations of the venerable teachers in these fields.
